It’s been awhile since I’ve entered one of Dawn McVey’s colour challenges, but I had the time and was inspired by these lovely colours.  Here’s the colour inspiration and the card I made:

I was going for a folksy/applique look here, using the different pastels on the chocolate background.  I cut the birdies from a template I made, and used Kaisercraft rhinestones for their eyes.  The cardstock, polka dot papers & stamp are from Papertrey Ink, the ribbon is from American Crafts, and I used my Fiskars border punch on the aqua glitter paper.  How cute are the lovebirds?  Thanks for stopping by,

I sold 6 sympathy cards, so today I made a couple of new ones to increase my depleted stash.  Here they are:

I’ve used Basic Grey & Kaisercraft paper, with Cosmo Cricket journalling tags, and Making Memories alphabet stickers.  The little birdies are vintage, and I’ve also used my Cuttlebug for the label shapes and embossing.  Sympathy cards obviously can’t be too bright, so I like how these turned out.

Two posts in one day!  I’m back to share with you some Christmas cards I made using the 3 Kaisercraft Christmas ranges.  I’ve made two from each range:

is a funky vintagey-style paper range from Basic Grey.  I’ve been making cards combining these papers with some of my vintage pictures, and here’s a couple of them:

to use on my cards is journal die-cuts, and the Madeline range from K&Co are some of the loveliest I’ve ever come across.  I’ve used them on all these pastel cards-great colours and pretty gold edging.  Here’s a couple more cards using these:

Once again I’ve made the same design, just using different rub-ons.  The papers for these cards are from Melissa Frances & K&Co.  I like the little crown & eiffel tower in the design, and pink and green are one of my favourite colour combinations.  That’s all from me for now, have a great day!

Do you set yourself any ‘rules’ in your papercrafting? Do you have any quirks?  One of the things I love about papercraft is that there are, of course, no rules, but I still have some personal patterns I seem to follow.  One of these is that I don’t like lots of stuff hanging around not being used – if I can’t use it I’ll somehow get rid of it (this applies to everything, not just craft!)  I also try to use up a lot of what I have before starting on using new products, such as paper.  I don’t always create like this, but it’s a great catalyst to ‘make do’ with what I have and concentrate on that before looking to the new stuff – and less to look at!

I’m not sure where this came from, but I’m rather organised and I don’t like waste, so maybe that has something to do with it…Therefore, before I can start using my new Regency paper pad, I decided to use up as many similar papers and accessories I have before looking at a whole new paper range-make sense so far…?  The cards I showed you yesterday are some of these, put together with left-overs, and here’s some more:

Another cool thing about these types of cards is that you can change the occasion just by using a different sentiment  See how I’ve used the same design twice, and then added the Kaisercraft rub-ons for different occasions?  I’ve also used a lot of different lace, ribbon, flowers, etc.-nearly all from opshops!  Anyway, I’ll stop my rambling for the evening-thanks for looking at my work!

I’ve used papers from Webster’s Pages, Bella, Kaisercraft & K&Co, along with K&Co die-cuts, and Kaisercraft rub-ons.  Very girly and feminine.   It’s fun finding ways to use up the last of a particular paper-and great to see the results.

The latest challenge is to use ‘glitz & bling’ on your card, along with of course at least one Basic Grey item.

I love using some bling on my cards, so I enjoyed this challenge.  Here’s my card:

I’ve used Wisteria papers from Basic Grey, and the rhinestone flowers are from Basic Grey too.  I also used some Kaisercraft paper, and the die-cut is from K&Co.  I like mauve and green together, and bling is always a good idea!

I managed to get a few cards finished today, despite this unusually hot weather! (I hate the heat…!)  The good thing is it prompts me to stay inside in the cool and get more cards finished.  Here’s my cards for the latest Card Patterns sketch:

I’ve used Autumn Leaves and October Afternoon paper for these, which go together really well.  The rub-ons are from Kaisercraft, and so are the rhinestones.  I love these papers – lovely bright colours.

I’ve been too busy the last few weeks to do any of the sketch challenges, but things are settling down now so I’ve made a couple of cards for the latest sketch at the Card Positioning Systems blog.

For these cards I’ve used October Afternoon papers, Papertrey Ink stamps, Jenni Bowlin chipboard buttons, and Heidi Swapp chipboard squares.  The only difference is that one has a red square, the other an aqua square.  I like these colours together.
