I like to crochet flowers

This week I have been using my collection of embroidery skeins to crochet these flowers.  I didn’t plan to, but I ended up making one from each colour in my stash.

The colours look so pretty grouped like this-they make me think of macarons.  I’m not sure what I will use them for yet, but I’m sure I will think of something!

Thankyou for stopping by,

Anthea.

New in my etsy shop

Hello!  Today I’m sharing the new ‘Book of Notes Kits’ that are now in my etsy shop.  Each kit has a lovely Paperways grid notebook, and embellishments to match.  There are five different colours to choose from; red, pale blue, mustard, pale pink and aqua.

I have included plenty of handmade embellishments in each kit, including; handmade envelopes, vintage paper stickers, a vintage atlas butterfly, and a crocheted motif.  There’s also two ‘sticker sheets’ of washi tape strips that I created by selecting the right colours which coordinate with each notebook.

You can fill the envelopes with notes and adhere them to the pages of the notebook for a lovely gift or keepsake for yourself.

These are all available now in my etsy shop so thanks for stopping by,

Anthea.

New in my etsy shop

Good afternoon!  Today I’m sharing the latest additions to my etsy shop.  I’m a bit excited about these, because they are my first ‘thing to wear’.  Here are my handmade crocheted brooches:

I wanted to add some more crocheted things to my shop, so I’m pleased with how they turned out :)   It’s fun coming up with new ideas and making the prototype for items, especially when they turn out well!

These are all for sale in my shop now, so thanks for stopping by and have a happy and blessed easter,

Anthea.

Mustard and white potholder

Good morning!  Here is my latest crochet effort; a potholder I made using mustard and white thread.  I’m loving mustard right now, and I have wanted to crochet a vintage potholder for awhile so I was excited to find mustard cotton thread at an op-shop.

I used this free crochet pattern and made a couple of minor adjustments.  I’m so glad it turned out, now I know I can crochet more using different patterns.  I like to see them hanging on a wall as decoration, so maybe I’ll start my own collection…

Now I’m off to enjoy a lovely autumn day-this is my favourite time of year :)   Thanks for stopping by,

Anthea.

Crafty Christmas colours

I noticed that some of my craft supplies are Christmas colours, and took some photos-aren’t they pretty?

Crocheted motifs are fun to make, and buttons are always  good idea :)

My creative space…

Good evening!  I haven’t been posting very regularly lately, so I thought that I would join in with our creative spaces for the first time and share some crafty things I’ve been making.

I love crocheting these little motifs!  They have so many uses and I know the pattern so well that I can make them really quickly.

More handmade wrapping paper.

Sympathy cards.  It’s been a while since I made some so I whipped up another batch.  I love the embossed tree!

So that’s some of what I’ve been creating lately.  I’ve also been busy making new things and wrapping up etsy orders from my shop.  I love the whole wrapping up and posting out process.

Check out more creative spaces here.

Crocheted gift tags now in my etsy shop

Can you believe it’s November already?  You know what that means-Christmas is getting closer…  So today I thought I would show you some new tags I have just added to my etsy shop.

Red ones and gold ones, with matching thread for tying.  I especially like the gold metallic thread I used, which I think looks Christmassy.  I also used lovely textured cardstock for the tags.

I’ll be back soon with some more new things in my little shop,

Anthea.

A pink and red doily

Good morning!  Here is my latest crochet effort; a doily I made from a lovely thread that changes from pink to red.  I’m proud of myself for completing this doily, because it’s the first crochet I have made by following a diagram, instead of a written pattern.  The pattern is actually Japanese, but crochet symbols are universal, so now I know I can do this I will definitely be looking for more patterns like these!  I found this pattern on Ravelry.

Now I’m off to work on more little things for my shop.

Have a great day,

Anthea.

New in my etsy shop

Hi!  It’s been a busy few days in my part of the world, but first the most important thing that happened last Saturday…the Cats won the Grand Final!  It was so exciting (and nerve wracking!) I didn’t go to the game but I worked at Chandon in the morning  then watched it when I got home just in time for the start.

Also, I’ve been working away on the invitations for my cousin’s wedding that is taking place on New Year’s Eve.  I’ve now finished the invitations, I just have to write on the envelopes using pretty writing :)

As well as all this, I have managed to upload a few new things in my etsy shop.

Lots of upcycled paper goodness – security envelope gift tags, vintage paper envelopes and mini note card sets with atlas envelopes and sticker seals.  I spent a bit of time on the packaging too; isn’t it cool? :)

I’ve been reading and learning a lot about making my etsy shop better, including things such as packaging and how I package items to send to customers.  One of the best things I’ve learnt is not to rush into anything-spend time working at it until I feel comfortable that it’s right.

I’ll leave you with a pic of an etsy package I sent a few days ago:

Go Cats!!

Flea Market Finds

Hello hello!  I’m sorry I went awol this week, but I’ve had some internet problems.  Everything seems to be back to normal now, though, so I’m here to show my latest thrifty finds.  This week I have a rather eclectic collection:

A few vintage ladybird books-I have a little collection of these now.

A few pretty pillowcases.

A cute little table that now lives by my bed.

This sweet old children’s book about deer.

A vintage crochet pattern and white peep-toe shoes.  I love the different pictures in this pattern and I’ll wear the shoes this summer-they fit me and everything!

So that’s my thrift loot for this week-not bad, I reckon.  I’m linking to Her Library Adventures and you can pop in to see more vintage finds.  Have a great week!

Anthea.
