Basic Grey Challenge Week 9

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 4:46 pm

Another challenge is up at Basic Grey Blog Challenges!  This week it’s a sketch challenge:

For this weeks challenge we would like you to follow this fab sketch which has been designed by our wonderful DT member Tara G :)

Copic Class Sketch 2

Here’s my cards for this fortnight’s challenge-I’ve used Nook & Pantry papers and fabric brads with vintage pictures, a fabric  yo-yo, and a Cosmo Cricket tag.  Great sketch, Tara!  Pop over and check out what the other designers have come up with if you get the chance…  Thanks for looking at my cards,

Glitter & sparkle…

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 7:02 pm

Like everyone else, there are certain products I reach for each time I make a card, but I’ve found that mixing it up sometimes with new things can open up a whole lot of possibilities (and it means a visit to my scrapbooking shop! :) ).

So this week I visited Chandon Craft (my local scrapbooking shop), and bought some new glitter!  I love all bling things (and even wrote a magazine article about cards using bling), so I was inspired to invest in some more.  Here’s what I bought:

These little glitter pots are so cute, I can’t wait to use all the colours and see what they look like!  I’ve used one colour so far, on this card I made last night:

This is a ‘bits & pieces’ card I made using left-over Basic Grey & Papertrey Ink papers, along with flowers from Prima & Heidi Swapp, a vintage greeting, and the brad is from Basic Grey too.  I used the yellow glitter along the bottom and around the sentiment.  I’m liking this glitter-no doubt I’ll be finding many more uses in future!

I’ve also been purchasing books online-I’ve found that buying second-hand books online saves money and they’re often in brand new condition.  Here’s one that arrived recently:

I love embellishments, and this book is full of great ideas for all different embellishments, and lots of layouts from various scrapbookers.  Also, it’s been produced in a spiral format so it sits flat!

Well, that’s all from me for now, so thanks for reading my ramblings!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #19

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 12:08 pm

It’s been awhile since I’ve entered one of Dawn McVey’s colour challenges, but I had the time and was inspired by these lovely colours.  Here’s the colour inspiration and the card I made:

I was going for a folksy/applique look here, using the different pastels on the chocolate background.  I cut the birdies from a template I made, and used Kaisercraft rhinestones for their eyes.  The cardstock, polka dot papers & stamp are from Papertrey Ink, the ribbon is from American Crafts, and I used my Fiskars border punch on the aqua glitter paper.  How cute are the lovebirds?  Thanks for stopping by,

Earlier this week

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 9:23 pm

I sold 6 sympathy cards, so today I made a couple of new ones to increase my depleted stash.  Here they are:

I’ve used Basic Grey & Kaisercraft paper, with Cosmo Cricket journalling tags, and Making Memories alphabet stickers.  The little birdies are vintage, and I’ve also used my Cuttlebug for the label shapes and embossing.  Sympathy cards obviously can’t be too bright, so I like how these turned out.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

It’s a Kaisercraft Christmas

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 5:47 pm

Two posts in one day!  I’m back to share with you some Christmas cards I made using the 3 Kaisercraft Christmas ranges.  I’ve made two from each range:

I loved working with all of these ranges-something to suit everyone.  These cards are on the Kaisercraft blog today, along with a lot of other Christmas cards from Kaisercraft design team members, so check them out for some more inspiration!

Nook & Pantry

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 5:38 pm

is a funky vintagey-style paper range from Basic Grey.  I’ve been making cards combining these papers with some of my vintage pictures, and here’s a couple of them:

I’ve also used the fabric brads from the Nook & Pantry range, and the rub-ons and rhinestones are from Kaisercraft.  I love using my little vintage pictures – each card is unique.  Thanks for stopping by, and for those in my part of the world, stay cool! :)

One of my favourite things

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 8:52 am

to use on my cards is journal die-cuts, and the Madeline range from K&Co are some of the loveliest I’ve ever come across.  I’ve used them on all these pastel cards-great colours and pretty gold edging.  Here’s a couple more cards using these:

Once again I’ve made the same design, just using different rub-ons.  The papers for these cards are from Melissa Frances & K&Co.  I like the little crown & eiffel tower in the design, and pink and green are one of my favourite colour combinations.  That’s all from me for now, have a great day!

More pretty pastels…

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 6:36 pm

Do you set yourself any ‘rules’ in your papercrafting? Do you have any quirks?  One of the things I love about papercraft is that there are, of course, no rules, but I still have some personal patterns I seem to follow.  One of these is that I don’t like lots of stuff hanging around not being used – if I can’t use it I’ll somehow get rid of it (this applies to everything, not just craft!)  I also try to use up a lot of what I have before starting on using new products, such as paper.  I don’t always create like this, but it’s a great catalyst to ‘make do’ with what I have and concentrate on that before looking to the new stuff – and less to look at!

I’m not sure where this came from, but I’m rather organised and I don’t like waste, so maybe that has something to do with it…Therefore, before I can start using my new Regency paper pad, I decided to use up as many similar papers and accessories I have before looking at a whole new paper range-make sense so far…?  The cards I showed you yesterday are some of these, put together with left-overs, and here’s some more:

P1020872 (Small)

Another cool thing about these types of cards is that you can change the occasion just by using a different sentiment  See how I’ve used the same design twice, and then added the Kaisercraft rub-ons for different occasions?  I’ve also used a lot of different lace, ribbon, flowers, etc.-nearly all from opshops!  Anyway, I’ll stop my rambling for the evening-thanks for looking at my work!

Using up

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 4:03 pm

bits & pieces on these cards:

P1020862 (Small)

P1020858 (Small)

P1020861 (Small)

P1020863 (Small)

I’ve used papers from Webster’s Pages, Bella, Kaisercraft & K&Co, along with K&Co die-cuts, and Kaisercraft rub-ons.  Very girly and feminine.   It’s fun finding ways to use up the last of a particular paper-and great to see the results.

Have a great week & thanks for stopping by!

Basic Grey Challenge 8

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 12:07 pm

The latest challenge is to use ‘glitz & bling’ on your card, along with of course at least one Basic Grey item.

I love using some bling on my cards, so I enjoyed this challenge.  Here’s my card:

P1020847 (Small)

I’ve used Wisteria papers from Basic Grey, and the rhinestone flowers are from Basic Grey too.  I also used some Kaisercraft paper, and the die-cut is from K&Co.  I like mauve and green together, and bling is always a good idea!

Thanks for looking at my work!
