Card Patterns Sketch 21

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 3:30 pm

The latest sketch is up at the Card Patterns blog and I’ve made my card.  Here’s the sketch and how I interpreted it:

I’ve used papers, butterflies & a die cut from the K & Co Madeline range, and some bitty dot paper from Papertrey Ink.  The tag is a Nestabilities die and Papertrey stamp, and I embossed the top green border with my Cuttlebug border folder.  I love all these colours and pretties together-very girly!  Thanks for stopping by,

Sunday bits & pieces…

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 2:30 pm

Wow, I’ve bought lots of lovely new things lately for my cards! First there was the new Kaisercraft ranges and Early bird from Cosmo Cricket, and then then this week I’ve bought some new Basic Grey and Sarah Jane from Bella.  That’s not to mention my new ‘tools’, including the embossing mat and more nestabilities dies, and two Fiskars border punches!  I also had a couple of successful op-shop trips-for a couple of dollars I got a huge bag of ribbons, ric rac & braids!

P1020100 (Small)

Here’s a couple of pics of another cool op-shop find.  I think I’ve mentioned how I love retro books before-this is an old dictionary, with heaps of cool illustrations, it’s just fun to flick through.  And the little item on top of the dictionary is another ‘florist frog’ to photograph my cards on.  It was ironic that just after I started looking I found another one so soon after the first.  This might be the start of a little collection…

P1020117 (Small)

This is the first card I’ve got to show you today.  I’ve used the Lime Rickey from Basic Grey, which isn’t exactly new, but I bought the elements sticker sheet to match this week so I thought I would make a card for a child.  I’ve also used one of my new Fiskars border punches on this one.  Love that birdie!

P1020115 (Small)

Here’s my first Cosmo Cricket Earlybird card.  I love love love the colours of these papers!  I’ve also used my new labels dies and apron lace punch.  Lots of machine stitching seemed the perfect way to finish off.

P1020110 (Small)

Here’s another one with the Duchess range from Kaisercraft.  I cut the frame from the paper and distressed the edges, and used part of the scalloped die-cut.  I stamped in the frame and punched the butterflies from old book paper.  I’ve also used velvet ribbon, a little vintage flower, and my apron lace border punch.

P1020112 (Small)

Lastly for today, I used the Loire Valley range from Kaisercraft for this one.  There’s lots of machine stitching, some rhinestones on the scallops, polka dot flowers, and the birdhouse is decorated with a Jenni Bowlin chipboard button attached with eyelets that I threaded the twine through.

There’s so much more cool stuff I want to get stuck into, but I’ve got a bit of a cold at the moment, so I’m trying to rest my eyes!  This is very hard for me, but I’m drinking heaps of water and taking anything that will help-I hate getting colds!  Thankyou for looking at my cards, and enjoy what little is left of the weekend!

My moment in the Spotlight!

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 3:29 pm

Guess what? my card for Raspberry Suite Color Challenge on Dawn McVey’s blog made the Spotlight!  That means it made the top 15 cards picked to be highlighted in this challenge.  I’ve only entered this challenge a few times so I’m very excited!  Thankyou to everyone who has taken the time to congratulate me!  You can see the card I entered here,  and go here to look at the spotlight and have a look at everyone’s cards-they’re well worth it!

The other cool thing about today is that my order from Scrapbook.com came today, with lots of goodies to try!  Here’s my loot:

P1020050 (Small)

There’s some more Spellbinders dies, as well as the embossing mat so now I can make that pretty little border, another border punch, and a great magazine.  Can’t wait to get stuck into it!

Oh, I’ve also got a couple more cards to show that I finished this afternoon:

P1020041 (Small)

For this one I used the new Loire Valley range from Kaisercraft, with plenty of machine stitching and filing around the edges.  The stamp is from Papertrey and the buttons vintage from my Nanny’s jar :) .

P1020042 (Small)

Flamingoes anyone?  How cute are these motifs on the new Pina Colada range from Kaisercraft?  I used black card stock and ribbon to contrast the bright colours, and I made the chipboard disc from a motif cut from the papers, which I attached to a scalloped circle cut with my Cuttlebug.  The greeting is a stamp from Papertrey Ink, and I’ve added some machine stitching.  Okay, that’s all I’ve got at the moment so thanks for stopping by,

P1020046 (Small)

For this one I’ve used the new Duchess range from Kaisercraft.  The colours in this range are just gorgeous; teal, pale green and chocolate brown.  The circles are from the die-cut sheet, and the scalloped circle is cut with a Nestabilities die.  I’ve also used Kaisercraft rhinestones, and the stamp is from Papertrey Ink.  I bought the ribbon at an op shop last week!

Thanks for looking at my card,

I’ve used the new Pennyroyale range from Kaisercraft for this little card.  I embossed the background with my Cuttlebug, and fancy-cut the flowers and layered them with foam tape.  The happy birthday stamp is from Papertrey Ink, and ribbon and rhinestones finish this off.

Have a great day!

Kaisercraft have really outdone themselves

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 1:38 pm

this time!  The Q1 launch of 6 huge ranges is in July.  However, as Kaisercraft is based where I live, and Chandon always gets their stuff early, I went and bought 5 out of the 6 paper ranges last week!  Yes, I bought all 6 sheets of each range, all the matching die-cuts, and some of the rub ons too.  They are absolutely gorgeous.  Between each of these ranges there’s something for every possible occasion.  I was trying to decide which I like the most, but it really depends on what I’m working on at the time :) .

Also, maybe you’ve seen some of these around on other cardmakers blogs?

P1020033 (Small)

They’re ‘florist frogs’ or ‘flower stands’, or whatever you like to call them, but they’re vintage and great for using when photographing cards.  I set out to hunt one down at a local collectibles market and was so excited to find this little one!  I bought it home and cleaned it up and it’s great.  I used it to photograph these cards I’ve made with some new Kaisercraft stuff:

P1020036 (Small)

This one I made using the Offshore range; it’s a funky mix of orange, aqua, and royal blue.  I’ve layered the papers, and cut the accents out of one of the sheets of paper.  I love these colours!

P1020037 (Small)

This card uses papers and decorations from the Loire Valley range.  Anyone who loves birdies will love these goodies.  There’s lots of birds, birdhouses and trees.

I’m planning some more cards with my new papers later today.  In other news, I sent some pictures of cards I made with Cosmo Cricket papers into their blog, and they showed one of my cards!  I was very flattered because they said they receive hundreds of pictures of things made with their product.  My card is the bright one with yellow ribbon and a scalloped circle cut from book print.

That’s all for now!

Another sympathy card, I’ve used old sheet music and Basic Grey Wisteria paper, Cavallini and Papertrey stamps, decorative scissors, ribbon, machine stitching, and a vintage button. Phew! That’s a lot of challenges all at once!

Thanks for looking at my card,

Card Patterns Sketch 19

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 10:45 am

I didn’t have any sympathy cards left, so I’ve used the latest Card Patterns sketch to make this one:

sketch19

P1020026 (Small)

The patterned paper is Wisteria from Basic Grey, as well as old book paper, and the flower I cut with my Cuttlebug dies.  The little sentiment is Papertrey Ink and I’ve cut the circles with Nestabilities dies.  The border is a Fiskars punch.

Thanks for looking at my card,

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #9

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 10:35 am

I’ve made a card for the latest Raspbery Suite challenge, over at Dawn McVey’s blog.  These colours were a bit of a challenge for me but I’m happy with the result:

P1020031 (Small)

I’ve used patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket, the black cardstock and stamp are Papertrey, the ribbon is from American Crafts, the rhinestones are from Kaisercraft, and the button is vintage.  I’ve backed the black rub on with cream card stock and adhered it with foam squares.

Have a lovely day!

Continuing the maculine theme…

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 3:47 pm

I’ve got a couple more cards for men to show you today.  They’re the same design, using different patterns:

P1020007 (Small)

P1020013 (Small)

The papers I used for these are the Li’l Man range from Cosmo Cricket (love their papers!), and the same Papertrey stamp I use for my previous cards.  I’ve combined machine stitching around the edges with hand stitching around the felt corners and I stitched on all the buttons too.  Now I have some male cards for the next time I’m asked.

Have a great week!

Anthea
