Latest work

Filed under: Layouts — antheam @ 8:42 pm

These five layouts are my latest for Chandon, with a lot of new products.  They’re all different, and I like finding alternative ways to present the photos. The layout below I made this weekend, using a lot of different bright embellishments and papers.  It’s just a fun layout about one of my quirks; that I am so definitely not a hoarder.

Crafty inspiration

Filed under: Uncategorized — antheam @ 7:51 pm

Last week at Sugar and Spice (my girl’s group), we used the book called ‘Softies’, and picked out what creatures we wanted to make. This is Hector, and I decided to make him because I think he was the cutest in the book.  I just finished him this afternoon, and I’ve stitched him all by hand, as it was a bit fiddly.  I like the combination of fabrics, which I got from op shops, and the felt face. I want to make some more now! I’m a bit old for stuffed toys, but these funky toys are really popular at the moment.

Those who know me will know I’m a huge fan of clearing things out. Well, second only to that is organising and reorganising everything I decide to keep.  I’m constantly reorganising my scrapbooking stuff due to my limited space, but it’s good because I always know what I’ve got and where it is. I also like to use everything I have, not just have stuff for the sake of it.

I also think it’s inspiring to see all the supplies, so here’s my little embellishment boxes I organised this week.  I used to have just one, but that’s not enough anymore, so I bought a cool one from work with adjustable compartments. Now I have one for the bright stuff:

And one for the metal and more classic stuff:

Next to papers, embellishments are the best part of scrapbooking for me, and I’m always on the lookout for unusual things. See the little cupcakes, rainbows, and Hello Kittys in the top picture? They’re my first purchase from Etsy, which is a great ‘market stall’ on the web for people to sell their stuff, as long as it’s homemade. I bought these from a girl in NSW, who makes funky things from that clay you can bake in the oven. I love how scrapbooking allows for everything; the best conventional stuff like Heidi Swapp and Basic Grey, as well as the little personal touches. The possibilities are endless. I can’t wait to use these little things, I think they’ll go well with the new Sassafras Lass and Heidi Swapp papers I bought this week.

Maggie’s Scrapbook

Filed under: Layouts — antheam @ 7:53 pm

Emma very kindly brought over the scrapbook I made about her dog, Maggie, so I was able to photograph it.  Here are some of the layouts:

I had lots of fun doing these, lots of different papers and techniques.

My new toy

Filed under: Layouts — antheam @ 6:31 pm

My latest layout, about my love of cold weather.  I’ve used bright blue, pink, and red.  I like these colours together. I love the little Sassafras Lass owl, and how cool is that huge button?

My new toy is a Dymo labeller I bought yesterday to use for the journalling:

Whilst internet surfing scrapbooking blogs I saw how these labellers have been used by some scrappers for funky journalling, and I think it looks cool.  I bought other coloured tapes too, so they can coordinate with the layout!

Here’s my latest couple of layouts for work with the new K & Co ranges:

This layout only took one sheet of patterned paper.  I stitched around the scalloped edge, and how cute are the chipboard toadstools? I inked those to match.

I like this bright one, with the rubons on the yellow cardstock.  I cut the patterned paper into an oval to try to compliment the design of the paper. I painted the chipboard rocket and doodled with white pen, and put Kaisercraft red rhinestones in the ‘windows’ of the rocket.

So much new stuff has come into Chandon lately, and I’m excited because I’ve got about five more layouts lined up to do with ranges like Heidi Swapp and Teresa Collins for the shop.  I’ll start these tonight, which will be fun.

Hot pink and lime green.

Filed under: Layouts — antheam @ 2:09 pm

I love bright colour combinations, and these colours work so well together. I’ve used the Basic Grey Sultry line with Autumn Leaves French Twist. The lettering is American Crafts Thickers, psx stamps, and my Cuttlebug.  I’ve also added some Prima flowers, Making Memories brads, Love Elsie chipboard buttons, and ribbons I’ve stitched on. I’m really happy how this layout turned out. It’s the first time I’ve had a photo for quite awhile!

Last week I did a couple more layouts for Chandon, using two of the new K&Co ranges, which is really fun and bright.  There is so much new stuff coming out at the moment! I’m working in the shop, as well as teaching this week, so I’ll have variety, which is really important to me. The website is live now too, so that’s another interesting element to the shop.  It’s like we’re operating out of two shopfronts now.

Double page layout using new Kaisercraft Country Grove range. I inked the chipboard ‘happy birthday’, cut out some extra flowers, and added buttons and rhinestones. I love the felt American Thickers for the title.

Basic Grey Archaic line. I’ve added ribbon, ricrac, American Thickers for title, and an Autumn Leaves stamp for the journalling.  I stapled on some of the embellishments for a rougher look.

KI Memories lace paper over Doodlebug glitter paper.  I cut circles randomly on navy cardstock for paper to peep through.  I painted the chipboard heading and backed with white paper for heading to stand out. I wrote the journalling on simple white strips of paper.

Sassafras Lass ‘Sunshine Lollipop’ range (I love that name). Rubon for the title, psx stamps for the journalling, Kaisercraft and Prima flowers with rhinestones and buttons. Lots of inking around the edges with pink

Making Memories ‘Fifth Avenue’ paper, Daisy D’s rubon, Making Memories stickers for name, flowers, ribbons, buckle for embellishment. I used pinking shears for the edge of black cardstock.

These are the layouts I’ve done in the last week.  Raqual gave me the photos and the papers, etc. and I’ve added my own extras.  It works great for me, because I get to use the latest products, and the samples are put in Chandon to give people ideas.  I really enjoyed using products I haven’t used before, like the chipboard frame and KI Memories lace paper.

School Holiday Class

Here’s a couple of photos of what we made in the school holiday class this morning.  We had a full class, and we made this lovely little tag book.  I really enjoy teaching the kids, they certainly keep you on your toes! Debbie took some photos of the class, and the books the girls made, to show what we do in our school holiday classes.  It was a bit rushed at the end, but there was only a couple of little things left to do, and I think they all had a good time.

Before class I took a photo of this card I made last night.  It’s for my sister’s birthday later this week.  The colours look a bit weird, but it’s actually white cardstock with aqua and green.  She’s not really a pink person, so I thought this would be suitable.  I’m happy with how it turned out.  I sold more cards yesterday, which is really exciting for me.  My aunty takes them to her work, and she sold over six in one day.  She’s taken them before, but I had made some new ones, and a couple of ladies bought a few each.  They were for a wedding, baby, etc.  It’s a real confidence boost when people like my cards enough to pay real money for them!

I’m lacking photos of my own to scrap at the moment (nothing new there), so Raqual gave me a few layouts to do for the shop of some of the latest ranges.  I can’t wait to get started.
