Cards, that is.  Here’s some of my latest creations, and there’s always more in my Flickr (just click on the sidebar).  I enjoy making these.  Figuring out the colours and embellishments, and seeing it all come together. They’re quick and easy, but fun to make. I haven’t bought a card for as long as I can remember, but I like individual ones much better than the shop variety. Now I just have to figure out how to offload them all…

I am moving on to scrapbooking next.  I want to do some freestyle/arty sort of pages.  Now that I’ve been scrapping awhile I know what I like and what I want to use in my layouts, and sometimes I find that something I want doesn’t exist! For instance, I wanted some funky fonts for my Cuttlebug, but I’ve got three and they’re about the only ones I like.  There are others that are lovely and elegant, but not for the sort of work I want to do.  I love the fonts of the American Crafts Thickers, so I’ve bought a few packs of those, which I can’t wait to use. Maybe American Crafts should start making their fonts into alphabet dies, just to suit me, of course!

Some more cards

Yes, I know I have a problem.  I made these three last night.  I’m using a lot of My Mind’s Eye because I won a pack through a magazine last year.  I’m going to make some more cards tonight, too.  Good news is that I’ve finally got some photos to scrap, so I’ll be able to do some good old-fashioned 12 x 12″ layouts.  I’m looking forward to using up some of my stash I’ve been waiting to use for ages, because I’ve placed a ban on myself – I’m not allowed to buy any papers, etc. until the new stuff comes out.  Otherwise I’m spending on old stuff, and from what I’ve read and seen of CHA last week there’s going to be at least a few ranges I’ll love – Basic Grey, My Mind’s Eye, Melissa Frances, to name just a few.

Oh, there was one little drama today.  Brumby’s Bakery have stopped selling my favourite M & M cookies!  How will I cope without one of my favourite comfort foods?  What’s wrong with these suppliers anyway?  Who in their right mind doesn’t love these cookies, but they’re still selling the yucky chocolate ones with peanuts or whatever they are.  Anyway, I’m sure I’ll get over it.  Eventually.

Here’s just some of the cards I’ve made in the last week.  I don’t know what’s come over me, but I’m making a lot of them.  It seems easier to make at least a few at a time.  These and others are in my Flickr on the right.

I worked all day on the website at Chandon today.  I really think I’m getting somewhere now.  It took a couple of shifts, but now I’m able to adjust the photos and upload products with their descriptions a lot faster.  This website is going to be huge.  There’s thousands of products, not to mention the forum and gallery which will also be available.  It will be good when it goes live very soon.

As mentioned earlier, I’ve been making cards lately.  Here’s what I’ve come up with so far.  Most of them are pretty simple, but I think that’s more effective.  I made more shabby chic style ones for birthdays this week.  I hope they like them.  I know I enjoy making them.  What will I do next…?

My latest creation

Filed under: Mini albums / Gift books — antheam @ 1:51 pm

My Mum is a twin, so I’ve made my aunt a paper bag gift book for her birthday.  I hope she likes it, I really enjoy making these.  It’s so much fun picking out the papers and matching embellishments.  I just love pretty embellishments, which is great for scrapbooking.  It’s funny how different scrapbookers focus on different elements.  For some, it’s the photos, for some it’s the journalling.  For me, it’s coordinating the papers and embellishments, making the colours go together.

Here’s some photos of the book, there’s more on my Flickr:
