Bits and Pieces

Filed under: Mini albums / Gift books — antheam @ 3:15 pm

I make lists.  I’m someone who likes to be organised and this helps a lot, especially when all the little things I have to do add up.  That’s what it’s like at the moment.  I love internet shopping and I have an aunty who won’t do it so I buy her stuff for her, but with Christmas coming up I have to organise who owes who what.  I’m still waiting on a couple of packages for myself, and one thing I ordered turned out to be unavailable.  The joys of communication via email.

Anyway, I did receive my first copy of ‘Somerset Memories’ magazine from Amazon.com this week, and it’s fantastic.  I’ve bought all the Aussie scrapbooking magazines at one time or another, but they’re all so similar and my style is a bit different, so this is a great magazine.  It’s more arty and individual, so I’m rather impressed.  I’ve just emailed them some photos of my work, as I’m still on a quest to be published.  I don’t seem to have what they look for, but I won’t give up.  I’m determined to get published in something, somewhere.

I’ve made a couple of little paperbag giftbooks lately for Christmas presents, which was great fun.  They don’t have photos, so I’ve used lots of quotes and pictures.  It’s a fun way to use up a lot of stuff.  Here they are, and there’s more detailed photos on my Flickr:

It’s raining!

I probably sound like an idiot, but these days rain is so rare it does get a bit of a reaction.

I did this layout last night.  It’s of my Mum and her identical twin sister when they were babies.  I’m really happy with it, and I managed to include pictures from Op shops, giving a vintage look:

I finished the heritage layouts I was doing.  Here’s the last one:

I also did this one of a photo I found of Dad at primary school.  The Basic Grey Recess line was perfect:
